Juno Rushdan Interviews Gideon Stone, the hero in Nothing to FearWe all have characters that resonate with us and we can’t forget. I’m thrilled to introduce you to one of my favorites. He’s not easy to get to know, but once you do, I guarantee you’ll fall hard for him. He’s sexy, badass and fiercely loyal. Today I’ve managed to score ten minutes with the mysterious Gideon Stone, an operative in the Gray Box. Are you familiar with the Gray Box and the Final Hour series? If not, now is the time to grab the first book, Every Last Breath!
I don’t want to waste another second because once my time is up, he’s out of here.

It’s so hard to choose a favorite romance trope! There are so many fun, emotional, feely stories to love—how are we supposed to choose?
I love a best friend’s sibling story—there’s a forbidden element there, don’t you think? I can’t tell you how many friends’ older brothers I had crushes on back in the day. It gets even yummier if you add in a second chance love story, like Lizzie and Adam’s from my recent novel, Big Chance Cowboy. There’s some extra heartache built in—can’t you just see teenaged Lizzie, pining away for Adam as he rides off to boot camp without (she thinks) looking back? And can’t you see Adam, working so hard to be a badass in spite of how terrified he must have been to head off to war? And then they meet again…he’s got scars inside and out, and she’s lost her rose-colored glasses, but not her attraction to Adam. Sigh. The Veteran Movers series is about veterans who come back to civilian life and work at a moving company while adjusting to working and loving in the non-military world. The characters are wacky and fun, intense and brooding. And they all have attitudes that don’t go away simply because they fall in love. What they don’t have are playlists. Why? Because I have to have absolute quiet when writing my books. I don’t listen to music, even instrumental music, because it’s distracting. My brain sees the page, my fingers type, and I do a verbal dance to the tune my characters demand. So when I saw the feature topic for this post (My Writing Playlist for the Veteran Movers series), I adapted…Kind of. I decided to include my reading “playlist” during the time I’ve been writing my Veteran Movers series. These are the books that have stood out to me for the past months while writing my series. And caution, many of these are not romances. They have character arcs and plotlines I love, though.

Kingdom of Exiles author Maxym M. Martineau joins us today to share a fun new quiz—which beast from Kingdom of Exiles would you charm? Find out below!
The writing process is different for every author. So we asked Maxym M. Martineau to describe the writing process for her debut novel, Kingdom of Exile. Take it away, Maxym!
I’m always so in awe of the authors who can plot. I’m talking about the ones who create storyboards, creatively move sticky notes around that are color-coded and beautiful, write scene-by-scene outlines before they even begin drafting… That level of plotting is so incredible to me, and totally not the way my writing process works. It just goes to show that there are different approaches to writing a story, and mine is just one of many. So if you’re curious how Kingdom of Exiles came to life, then keep reading (and expect no sticky notes, save the ones I slapped on my desk with upcoming due dates). With the upcoming release of her newest happy-ever-after, Cowboy In Wolf's Clothing, we asked Kait Ballenger to share her favorite HEA!
