The Veteran Movers series is about veterans who come back to civilian life and work at a moving company while adjusting to working and loving in the non-military world. The characters are wacky and fun, intense and brooding. And they all have attitudes that don’t go away simply because they fall in love. What they don’t have are playlists. Why? Because I have to have absolute quiet when writing my books. I don’t listen to music, even instrumental music, because it’s distracting. My brain sees the page, my fingers type, and I do a verbal dance to the tune my characters demand. So when I saw the feature topic for this post (My Writing Playlist for the Veteran Movers series), I adapted…Kind of. I decided to include my reading “playlist” during the time I’ve been writing my Veteran Movers series. These are the books that have stood out to me for the past months while writing my series. And caution, many of these are not romances. They have character arcs and plotlines I love, though.
Here are a few that make the grade…
