We are OBSESSED with the new cover of Joanne Kennedy’s One Fine Cowboy (out in August). Okay, we’re really obsessed with the beautiful horse and gorgeous man featured on the cover. We asked Jeff, Buster the horse’s owner if he’d tell us more about him! Jeff is the owner of Casita de Chuparosa in New Mexico. Romance Reads: We loooooooove Buster! What kind of horse is Buster? Jeff: He is an American Paint Horse / Tennessee Walker. He stands 16.3 hands. How old is he? He is 15 years old. He’s gorgeous! What else can you tell us? He is a gentle giant, very socialized and personable. He is accustomed to being around people / guests at my B & B. Ooo. B&B. Where is that? Abiquiu, New Mexico. And Buster lives there with you? Yes, he shares his corral alongside 3 mini-Sicilian donkeys and 2 alpacas. Where did you get him? He was given to me by a couple down the road that were looking to sell him and their other horse as they were transferred to Ireland. They couldn’t quite find the right buyer and setting. I had seen their ad (Locally) and Buster reminded me on my previous Paint Horse “Valentine” who unfortunately had passed away 2 years prior from a rattlesnake bite. They had him for sale for $10,000 and gifted him to me, they liked my setting and knew that I would provide a good home. Do you have more pictures of him? Thanks for stopping by, Jeff, and telling us all about Buster! He's gorgeous, and we're so excited to feature him on the One Fine Cowboy cover! ![]() His heart is as wild as the horses he loves… Nate Shawcross loves his quiet life training wild and damaged horses. He’s furious when a beautiful greenhorn shows up for lessons in handling horses, criticizes his techniques, and scares his newest rescue. Nate is stunned to learn he’s become famous as the latest miracle “horse whisperer” and just wants to send her packing… Graduate student Charlie Banks came to learn, but she expected more than a taciturn cowboy and a ranch on the verge of ruin. But as she watches Nate Shawcross work, the horse isn’t the only one who succumbs to the handsome cowboy’s “whispering.” Amazon | B&N | BAM | Indiebound Joanne Kennedy is the RITA-nominated author of ten contemporary Western romance novels.
