If there's one thing that we can all agree on, it's that moving SUCKS. It seems like everyone's got a moving gone wrong story—did your car break down halfway across the country? Or all of your dishes broke in transit? Or you get there and the place is infested with bugs? No matter what happened to you, we want to hear it!
We're celebrating the release of the first book in Marie Harte's new Movin On series, The Whole Package, with a sweepstakes!
Here's how to enter:
STEP ONE: Tell us your true moving horror story on social media (Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram) using #movinonseries by February 3. Or you can email your story to firstname.lastname@example.org. We're looking for stories between 50 and 200 words. If you use Twitter, feel free to utilize the thread function!
STEP TWO: On February 4, the Sourcebooks Casablanca marketing team will choose our top five favorite stories and put it to all of YOU to vote for the best story!

When we moved from Virginia to Paris France, we were supposed to keep a low profile as Americans, as we were with the federal government. When the moving van parked outside our apartment in Paris to unload our furniture, the truck had a sign in HUGE letters saying: UNITED STATES VAN LINES. Well, there went that incognito thing.

My husband and I had just gotten married and we moved to a new town. Our movers kept telling us they would be there at a certain time, and they ended showing up at 3:30 in the morning. But the worst part, was my car needed to get to the garage because my husband said it was the water pump. So, I called a gas station that had certified mechanics. They came to tow it, and they said it would be a couple of days. So, 2 days later, I called the service station, and they didn't have my car. I just kept calling all the service stations for 3 days until I found my car. Duh?
