In celebration of the recent release of Diana Munoz Stewart's The Price of Grace, book 2 in the Black Ops Confidential series, we asked Diana to share her favorite romantic suspense novels! Check out her favorites below.

As an author of romantic suspense, I read a lot in and out of the genre, and while I could do an all-time must-read list, that list would undoubtedly contain books you have already read. I would rather introduce you to some newer amazing books that I’ve read recently, say within the last year. I’m thrilled to be able to share some of my favorite books from this past year. These books are well-written, powerful, and suspenseful. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have!

In no particular order...

The Obsession by Nora Roberts

This book captured my imagination at a time when I really needed it. That makes me not just a fun of Nora Roberts but indebted to her. The story pulled me in from the first startlingly moment.

This novel starts as Naomi, an eleven-year-old girl, rescues a woman her father is keeping hostage in a cellar. Thus, she unmasks her father as a serial killer to herself and the world. Years later, she tries to rebuild her life while rebuilding an old B&B in Washington State. She makes friends in the area, meets a dynamic and sexy mechanic, and life looks up. But her father's crimes draw a sicko's admiration, threatening Naomi and the lives of people around her. An incredible book, with vivid and stirring descriptions, heart-luring setting, amazing characters, and a surprise ending. Nora Roberts doesn’t need my help in selling her fabulous work, but you need this book. You will absolutely fall in love with this story. And, like me, perhaps feel immense gratitude to this fabulous author.

The Marriage Lie by Kimberly Bell

I picked this book up after being on a panel with Kimberly at Thrillerfest. So glad I did. This book took me on a thrill ride. It was filled with high-emotion, nail-biting tension, and an overpowering mystery. It starts with a tragedy, as Iris’s husband is presumed dead after a plane crash, and from there it veers off in unexpected directions.

Iris discovers her beloved husband has been lying to her about almost everything. She’s devastated but determined to uncover the truth. Did her husband get on that plane?

There was nowhere my heart didn’t follow Iris on this journey. I simultaneously wanted to discover the truth but didn’t want the book to end.

Vivid descriptions, high tension, and tangible emotions will have readers feeling every minute of this story down to the shocking and satisfying conclusion. I was so thrilled with this book I did a FLASH GIVEAWAY on my author page. Something I do only when I’m so taken with a book that I need to immediately share it!

All Beautiful Things by Nicki Salcedo

Ava Camden, the main character in this beautifully written story, was brutally scarred one night during a vicious attack. A man goes to jail for the crime, but his brother, Graham, doesn’t believe he’s guilty.
Graham begins to write to Ava.

These letters continue for some time and are the start of a seemingly impossible romance. How can Ava ever feel love for the brother of the man who hurt her, especially when that man insists his brother didn’t do it? If you like a good who-dunnit, along with a satisfying romance you’ll love this book. From the first page, the author draws you in with sentences like, “There were days of your birth and days you were unborn. Ava had both.”

The characters in this book are compelling, even when they are enduring and dealing with a lot of emotional baggage. The romance stuns, as does the love between brothers, but it’s the tension that keeps you turning pages. Pick this one up, you won’t regret it!

Every Last Breath by Juno Rushdan

This book is a true thriller. It starts fast and picks up steam. It’s one of those can’t-stop-reading, what’s-going-to-happen-next books. The author did an incredible job with making the plot feel immediate, the special operations genuine, and the romance intense. Cole and Maddox are former lovers turned enemies turned lovers, but this second-chance romance isn’t quick and easy. Thanks to the ticking clock of doom, they have 48 hours to stop the distribution of a bioweapon, and this looming threat heightens every interaction. This one will leave you breathless.

Every Deep Desire by Sharon Wray

This fantastic read isn’t for the faint of heart. Actually, it’s a book with so much heart that it requires readers with equally strong temperaments. Told in multiple points of view, as readers of the genre will be familiar with, this romantic suspense novel is high on tension and grit. Every Deep Desire captures from the first page. In fact, it was on the first page that I thought, “This is different.” Different as in edgy, intense, and powerful. This complex and engrossing story has authentic emotional, descriptive, and romantic details. Details so exacting they bring everything alive, from the scenery, to the emotional shame of our hero, to the hot attraction between our leads. This novel is one you want to put on your TBR, but don’t wait too long to read it, because One Dark Wish, the second in the series, is out on Sept 24th!
